Just nipped out to the Post Office and took a few shots along the way. Several were of a dead mouse lying out in my neighbour’s drive. When I got it home (the camera, not the mouse) the pictures rather turned my stomach, so I thought I would be better not sharing them.
Instead, here’s one of our mill pond in the setting sun, complete with sheets of ice on the surface. Also, one of the neighbourhood defunct mil chimney.

Is that two meals, or two sausages?
I know I’ve taken similar shots to this before and I fear it’s going to happen again. I love the idea of being able to look all the way along the row of checkouts. It’s a multiple number of counters; a repetition of the customer-server relationship several times over.

For once, Sunny Oxenhope was living up to its name this morning. So, on the drive home from the regular Saturday coffees, I continued up on to the moor between our little village and Hebden Bridge. The view was particularly spectacular, with the snow-topped peaks of the Dales visible in the distance.
Unfortunately, some morons had decided to have a party in the lay-by where I was parked and neglected to take away their litter. These people don’t deserve to be surrounded by such beautiful countryside.

Initially, I assumed this shelf contained much tat, or reduced items from Christmas. Actually, it was a display of school lunch containers.

Like many former industrial cities in the north, Bradford’s going through a hard time at the moment. That was so, even before the recession hit. And while it suffers, everyone seems to have an opinion about what’s wrong with it or what should be done about it …

Took this pic earlier in the week while watching the excellent
BBC4 programme about photographer
Brian Duffy. Not only did it reveal his undoubted talent, it also highlighted how some people remain young in attitude despite the advancing (‘advancing’ always seems inappropriate to me, as is ‘declining’, for different reasons) years.
Stress that the image itself has nothing to do with the programme. S’just a reminder.
